Art-Assisted Therapy is a way to express feelings when words are inadequate or unavailable. It is an integrative healing method providing effective treatment for clients of all ages and utilizes a multicultural approach honouring all value and belief systems to attain wellness. No art experience is required.
Engaging in expressive arts places emphasis on the creative exploration and not on the final art product. Process-oriented work is a joyful and fun way to discover, understand and create deeper meanings in our lives. Feelings, wishes and thoughts express themselves symbolically through the art process, creating personal imagery. Reflecting on the finished image and reviewing the process can lead to greater insight and a greater sense of self-understanding.
